The sound files posted here are available in two formats:
Wav (8 bit, Mono-large but most cross-platform friendly)
and MP3 (16 bit, Stereo-small, portable, becoming the new standard). In order to hear them you must
have an appropriate
audio player program installed on your computer.
Windows 95/98 can play Wav files through it's integral Microsoft
MediaPlayer, whereas MP3s need an additional player, such as WinAMP. Other
platforms have similar players available too (even the trusty ol' Amiga!).
